Abstracts

Suggests that certain Gestalt therapy techniques involve an altered state of consciousness and may require the altered state for their effectiveness. Definitions of trance and hypnosis are presented and the Gestalt here-and-now experience described. 10 features of altered states of consciousness present during intense concentration or presentation are discussed. The effectiveness of the Gestalt technique used is related to the degree of realness of the subjective experience which ensues.
